February 2004 Tip of the Month
Chandelier earrings have become very popular in the last year or so, prompting me to create a few of my own to wear and give as gifts. You may think dangling jewelry is not for you, but if you are open to trying them you'll probably be hooked. Bead stores seem to have finally discovered that the chandelier trend is here to stay and have begun regularly stocking the findings necessary to create these fun little pieces. I've got a few very easy examples for you to look at to help you get some ideas of your own, click here to see a few of my early creations.
When shopping for chandelier earring findings, be aware that you can use just about any smaller Bali beads, multi-strand bracelet ends and connectors, chain, and drop beads. You are not resigned to head pins loaded with crystals, however, if you typically do not wear larger earrings, you may want to start with something more conservative. Here are a few of the earring findings I've collected from multiple sources over the last year. |
